Prodesse
to supply Lahey Clinic with ProFlu-1™ Reagents
WAUKESHA, WI (December 8, 2005) – Prodesse announced today that Lahey
Clinic (Burlington, MA) has completed validation of an assay using Prodesse's
ProFlu-1™ reagents. Lahey Clinic used ProFlu-1 reagents to develop
a multiplex, real time PCR assay which, from a single sample, can detect and
differentiate three of the most important respiratory viruses (Influenza A virus,
Influenza B virus and Respiratory Syncytial Virus). Released in August in a 1-step
RT-PCR format, assays using ProFlu-1 reagents enable labs to develop assays requiring
minimal hands-on time.
According to Steve Cook, Manager of the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, "We
recently presented a poster at the 21st Clinical Virology Symposium describing
our experience with our assay developed using ProFlu-1 reagents. Lahey
Clinic will replace cell cultures with this new assay as our definitive influenza
test during the upcoming Flu season."
"We are delighted to count Lahey Clinic among our customers", said
Tom Shannon,
Prodesse CEO. "This is our first major account in the Boston area, and
we look forward to a continuing relationship. With many large institutions domestic
and abroad currently validating this product, we are very optimistic about our
future", Shannon added. |
