Prodesse announces release of reagents for detection of newly discovered human metapneumovirus

WAUKESHA, WI (March 8, 2006) – Prodesse, Inc. announced today that it has released reagents for sale to CLIA laboratories who can incorporate them into their development and validation of Real Time PCR assays which can be used to detect the newly discovered human metapneumovirus (hMPV). Patent rights to hMPV are held by ViroNovative BV, Netherlands, which has licensed Prodesse to produce reagents to detect the human metapneumovirus (hMPV) analyte. Prodesse currently has the only commercially available licensed PCR reagents for labs to use in assays they develop to detect hMPV.
